| The Calhoun County Public Library offers free access to online reference databases to library patrons. An online database is a computerized collection of information on a specific subject or area. All of these databases serve as electronic libraries that contain enormous amounts of information. Patrons can access these databases from Internet computers at any Calhoun County Library or from a home, school or work computer that has an Internet connection. The only thing you will need is your library card number. Gale Database Database of encyclopedias, almanacs, and specialized reference sources for multi-discipline research. Florida Electronic Library A collection of free databases and live reference services available to all Florida residents. It is the result of a statewide collaboration between academic, public, private and special libraries. The electronic library is funded by a Federal Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) grant administered by the Florida Division of Library and Information Services and the Florida Department of State. Heritage Quest You will need a Calhoun County Public Library Card to use this site. The library card number needs to be entered as it appears on your card. HeritageQuest Online™ combines digital, searchable images of U.S. federal census records with the digitized version of the popular UMI® Genealogy & Local History collection and other valuable content. This online database is an essential collection of unique material for both genealogical and historical researchers, with coverage dating back to the late 1700s.
